Bart Jan started his career in September 2016 and has been with Florent since its founding. He is a senior associate in the Dispute Resolution practice. 

Expertise

Bart Jan specialises in dispute resolution both in the public courts and in arbitration. He advises directors and supervisory board members in extensive and high-profile liability proceedings. In addition, Bart Jan is involved in a wide range of both corporate and commercial proceedings, including shareholder disputes, post-M&A proceedings, trade disputes, inquiry proceedings and various summary proceedings. Bart Jan thereby focuses in particular on cases with a financial background, including proceedings on misleading financial reporting and related investigations.

Bart Jan speaks Dutch and English. Bart Jan is also an editor at the website www.or-updates.nl and has co-authored several contributions on international arbitration. In 2023, Bart Jan completed the post‑academic studies Enterprise & Liability at the Grotius institute with distinction.
