about Merijn

Merijn started his career in 2014 at NautaDutilh, where he gained experience in structured finance, insolvency and litigation. During his time at NautaDutilh he was seconded to Rabobank. He joined Florent in 2018, where he is a senior associate in the Restructuring & Insolvency practice.

Expertise

He specialises in restructurings, insolvency and dispute resolution, with a special focus on cross-border work. He advises and litigates in the fields of restructurings, insolvency, security interests, commercial contracts and (directors’) liability. He is regularly appointed by the court as receiver in bankruptcies and has notable experience in WHOA proceedings.

 

What else
Merijn speaks Dutch and English. He often lectures and writes articles for renowned Dutch legal journals. Merijn obtained his post-graduate degree (Grotius) in insolvency law and completed the specialisation course financial economy for insolvency lawyers (Financiële Economie voor Insolventieadvocaten). He is a member of INSOL Europe, INSOLAD and NVRII.
