Marit Balkema is a senior associate in the Dispute Resolution practice of Florent. She started her career at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer LLP in Amsterdam and joined Florent in 2022.

Marit has a broad dispute resolution practice with a focus on corporate law-related disputes, governance matters, ESG and contractual and non-contractual liability. She represents a variety of public and private companies and institutions and assists managing directors, supervisory directors and shareholders.
With a background in corporate and EU law and broad experience in the corporate and dispute resolution practices of renowned law firms, also gaining useful experience in corporate advice, capital markets, M&A and EU decision-making procedures, Marit is also well-positioned to assist businesses in navigating ESG-related risks within the contexts of litigation and corporate governance.
