about Alejandra
Alejandra started her career at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer in Amsterdam in 2018. After nearly four years at Freshfields, she spent two and a half years at Dutch litigation boutique Ysquare. During her studies, she clerked at the Court of Appeals in The Hague (Commercial dept.).
She joined Florent in July 2024. She is an associate in the Restructuring & Insolvency practice. She also teaches Insolvency law and Security at the University of Amsterdam, and is a supervisor to students writing their master thesis on insolvency, security, property, or civil procedure law.
Expertise
Insolvency and security law matters, including on creditor’s rights, impending insolvencies, Dutch schemes, actio pauliana issues, security rights, and director’s liability. Alejandra also has experience in (international) distressed transactions in various branches, such as retail and oil and gas industry.
What else
Alejandra speaks Dutch, English, Spanish and German. She regularly publishes on insolvency law related topics, in particular on Dutch schemes (the so-called WHOA). She is a member of the Young Insolvency Lawyers Association (JIRA).
