Kees begon zijn carrière in 1991 bij een advocatenkantoor in Amsterdam. Sinds 2017 is hij één van de oprichters van Florent. Hij is co-head van het Restructuring & Insolvency team en staat tevens aan het hoofd van Florent’s Cross-border Asset Recovery team. Kees is tevens Managing Partner van Florent. Hij heeft meer dan 30 jaar ervaring als curator in een aantal spraakmakende en complexe grensoverschrijdende faillissementen. Hij treedt ook op als adviseur voor bedrijven in financiële moeilijkheden. Hij heeft uitgebreide ervaring met herstructureringen voorafgaand aan insolventie (WHOA), zowel als adviseur van de onderneming als door de rechtbank aangewezen functionaris.

Volledig scala aan herstructurerings- en insolventiewerk, waaronder het adviseren van bedrijven in financiële moeilijkheden en het optreden als herstructureringsexpert, waarnemer, bewindvoerder of curator. Hij richt zich ook op grensoverschrijdende asset recovery-zaken, fraudeprocesvoering (het vervolgen van civiele fraudeclaims) voor bedrijven, financiële instellingen, (buitenlandse) insolventiepractici en vermogende particulieren.

Kees spreekt Nederlands, Engels en Italiaans. Hij wordt regelmatig uitgenodigd voor lezingen in binnen- en buitenland over (grensoverschrijdende) herstructurering en insolventie en internationale asset recovery. Hij is het exclusieve Nederlandse lid van ICC’s FraudNet. Kees is tevens lid van de Asset Recovery Committee van de International Bar Association (IBA) en voorzitter van de Raad van Commissarissen van een groot familiebedrijf. Hij is lid van het College van Afgevaardigden van de Nederlandse Orde van Advocaten (NOvA) en lid van de Commissie Financiën. Tot slot is hij lid van INSOL International, INSOL Europe, INSOLAD en NVRII/NACIIL. Kees is opgenomen in Chambers en Legal 500.
